Tooth Extraction / Removal
Before Treatment
- Systemic Health: Check your Blood Pressure and Sugar levels; they must be under control.
- Food: Have a good meal before coming (unless you are having sedation).
- Transport: Arrange for a friend or family member to drive you home if possible.
- Comfort: Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
- History: Inform the doctor about any bleeding disorders or blood-thinning medications.
After Care
- Cotton Pack: Keep the cotton pack bitten tightly for 1 hour.
- No Spitting: Swallow your saliva. Do not spit, as spitting dislodges the blood clot and causes bleeding.
- Cold Diet: After removing the cotton (1 hour later), eat cold foods like ice cream or juice (no straw).
- Hygiene: Do not rinse your mouth or brush vigorously for the first 24 hours.
- Rest: Avoid heavy lifting, gym, or running for 2 days.
